Location: Elgin, Moray

Tony Weir Contractor Ltd is a well-established fencing company based in Elgin, delivering high-quality fencing solutions for domestic, commercial, and agricultural clients throughout Scotland. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for Contracts Estimator to join our team.

We are looking for an Estimator to join our small team based in Elgin. The role will involve evaluating project costs and preparing accurate estimates for various projects. The Estimator will work closely with the Directors, Operations Manager and Clients to price and tender for fencing and civils projects across Scotland. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding background in construction, excellent numerical skills, and experience preparing competitive and accurate quotations

What You'll Do

  • Review tender documents and specifications.

  • Conduct site visits to assess scope of work, take measurements, and identify any risks or complexities.

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labour, plant and subcontractor costs.

  • Work closely with the Accounts Director on project cost analysis.

  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive prices.

  • Submit timely and accurate tender documents and proposals to clients.

  • Liaise with operations and fencing teams to ensure alignment of estimations with project delivery.

  • Track and manage tenders submitted and follow up with clients to secure work.

  • Maintain an accurate and up to date pricing database.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in fencing, civils, construction estimating, or a similar field.

  • Proficient in Excel and general MS Office tools.

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good communication and negotiation abilities.

  • Valid UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience

  • Strong knowledge of fencing systems and installation practices.

  • Experience with contract negotiation or bid writing.

  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations relevant to construction and rural fencing.
